  • The Associate Director – Residential Care Programme shall be primarily responsible for defining, conceptualizing, developing, designing and supervising the implementation of programs in keeping with the strategic needs of the organization. S/he will be the primary interface between the grassroots programs implementation and the senior management of the organization. S/he shall be responsible for identifying the grassroots needs and molding program design to meet those needs most effectively while ensuring its alignment with the strategic vision of the organization. S/he will report directly to the Director –Community Programmes and RCP

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Assisting Director Residential Care Programme in development, management and  supervision of all four Residential Care Centre’s (RCP) to meet overall program and organization goals
  • Developing Residential Care Programme (RCP) proposals under the supervision of the Director Residential Care Programme in keeping with the strategy and goals and basis a situational analysis of the project area
  • Trouble-shooting and managing day to day operational aspects of the all four Residential Care Center’s.
  • Supervising and guiding project officers and other project staff in functioning of the Center.
  • Implementing Best Practices of other Group Homes, Foster Homes etc that best suits the Center requirements.
  • Supervising and guiding project staff to help build their capacities related to project implementation (planning, understanding of goals, objectives and approach and conceptual understanding and application on ground), process documentation, and reporting and data analysis
  • Supporting project team to generate and utilize project data
  • Analysis of data and utilizing for future planning and research
  • Suggesting modifications in RCP plans and approach basis the review of Centres and their deliverables and managing the changes decided by the management to be incorporated
  • Ensuring all Centres documents like proposal, reporting formats, files and tools are maintained as per the prescribed norms. This would involve regular monitoring and review of the same
  • Reviewing and finalizing reports generated by project teams for internal organizational use and for submission to donor/funding organizations. Compiling consolidated program reports 
  • Analyzing expenditure with respect to budget and actual project requirement in terms of efficacy of expenditure
  • Coordinating with the different departments to ensure research, training, and project management, execution and evaluation requirements are met
  • Prepare the draft Annual Plan for all the 4 Residential Care Centre's (operational and financial) and monitor implementation of plans within the approved budget.
  • Day-to-day coordination with the Project Officer's providing them guidance and address any issues facing the centers.
  • Build strong linkages with Government/Private institutions, Childline, Educational institutions, CWC and other legal authorities for smooth functioning of the centers.
  • Organize orientation programs for visitors and Donors at the Centre's
  • Organise Project Officer's meeting once every month to address issues faced by the children, staff, training requirement, compliance on reporting formats and any other issues facing the centers.
  • Will be responsible for performance management, finalizing of KRA’s of all Residential Care Programme Staff and quarterly performance review of all staff. 


  • Post graduate in Social Work or Social Sciences
  • More than 7 years experience in handling projects of which the last 2 years should have been in managing projects
Minimum Experience
  • Atleast - 7-8 years experience in the Social-Development Sector with atleast 3-4 years experience in Program Management at a Senior Level


  • Must have the personality and passion to work with children
  • Proven experience in managing multiple centre's for children, proposal writing, including conceptualizing and technical writing
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to mentor, build capacity, coordinate people and processes fis a must
  • Good  understanding of social issues especially health and education and rights
  • Knowledge of Marathi and Hindi preferred
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills
