Desired Job Profile
Purpose of the Role
  • To raise funds for SC India’s programmes; to ensure quality and consistency in relationships with institutional donors; to support contract management and fundraising capacity within the state teams by means of assisting in developing donor proposals. This position will primarily work in the Institutional Partnerships’ team and closely with programmes team.
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Maximize resource generation from institutional donors; achieve and exceed the financial/non-financial targets assigned for this role
  • Establish and manage existing alliances and partnerships, and explore new ones to increase the organization’s reach and the resources generated
  • Seek out Call for Proposals/ Funding Opportunities and ensure they are reviewed and meet the organization’s strategy
  • Explore new sources of funding with private trusts, foundations, public-private-partnerships etc.
  • Engage periodically with Save the Children Member countries by organizing periodic calls, encourage and facilitate visits by Save the Children International colleagues to India, and any of their actual or potential donors
  • Support the Manager, Institutional Partnerships by taking lead on research of donors, donor mapping exercise and funding opportunities.
  • Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child rights and safeguarding, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.
Qualifications
  • Post-graduation in Social Work/relevant field.
Minimum Experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in the relevant field – preferably development sector
  • Experience working on Child Rights issues
  • Have programme implementation experience.
Skills
  • Conceptually clear and analytical
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Demonstrated experience of writing winning proposals.
  • Ability to evaluate proposals and reports and make technical recommendations for improvement
  • Ability to produce clear and timely written communications in the form of proposals and reports.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Project Cycle Management, Logical framework Analysis and other programme development tools
  • Numeracy, budgetary and financial reporting skills
  • In depth knowledge of institutional donors and donor requirements.
  • Understanding of donor compliance and key SC reporting procedures
  • Good negotiation, communication, decision-making and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willing and able to adapt priorities in order to respond to changing demands.
  • Good administration skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Good personal organisational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles
