Tasks and Responsibilities
Strategy and financials:
  • Develop and implement the Retention and Donor Upgrade strategy including a customised communication plan, working closely with the Deputy Director - Individual Fundraising team
  • Manage the Retention budget and ensure that controls are in place to monitor and report on income and expenditure
  • Generate resources and maintain operational costs in order to achieve and exceed the budgeted levels of profitability
  • Maximise resource generation from existing individual donors: achieve and exceed the financial/non-financial targets for Retention income
  • Provide database insights to support the existing agencies and in-house teams to be able to retain donors
  • To ensure that the donor retention numbers are as per set benchmarks.
  • To ensure that donors are upgraded to ensure an optimum life time value
  • To develop and execute a calendar of communication designed to retain donors
  • To develop a portfolio of donors using online and offline database marketing tools
  • Optimise costs across channels and communication plans in order to achieve and exceed the budgeted levels of profitability

Process and Communication:

  • Analyse present and past data, locate trends, and evolve plans to improve donor servicing, retention and resource generation from existing donors
  • Manage tele calling agencies through regular interaction, ensuring answers to queries, ensure agreements in place and regular payments to ensure effective working relationship so they meet/exceed budgeted incomes at specified profitability
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and effective donor servicing (viz., mailers, annual reports, receipts, forms, information requests, activity status updates, tax certificates, queries, field visit requests, invitation for events, etc) towards relationship building and retention
  • Direct, coordinate and monitor the performance of Tele Marketing teams in order to maximize resource generation from and ensure effective documentation, information exchange between the organisation and them
  • Work closely with marketing analyst and past data, locate trends, and evolve plans to improve donor servicing, direct marketing operation and resource generation
  • Identify and train resources within existing fundraising service agencies and Inhouse teams and initiate pilot marketing activities with them and, where successful, implement a scale up strategy
  • Ensure the retention portfolio staff is well trained and sufficiently informed about the organisation’s mission, values, objectives and activities and that the communicate consistent and accurate messages to current and potential donors
  • Ensure timely, accurate and effective donor servicing (viz., mailers, annual reports, receipts, forms, information requests, activity status updates, tax certificates, queries field visit requests, invitation for events, etc.) towards building relationship building and retention.
  • Lead in the development of relevant fundraising communication materials for various needs electronic and print as relevant for direct marketing retention and for acquisition
  • Ensure that all communications are consistent with the Save the Children brand and that Save the Children’s name and logo are protected at all the times.
  • Ensure effective coordination for exchange of information and work needs

Others:

  • Promote the work of Save the Children- communicating, both internally and externally, in an accurate, sensitive and motivating fashion
  • Ensure that all marketing activities comply with applicable law at all times, including compliance with data protection legislation
  • Understand and be an advocate, internally and externally, for the values of Save the Children
  • Other duties as required in line with your skills, experience and role
Qualifications
  • Post Graduation in Marketing/PR from a recognised Institute
Minimum Experience
  • 7 years of relevant experience in a competitive market environment
