Desired Job Profile
  • The Program Director will lead an exciting 3-year technology and program development phase at Mentor To Go, our mobile mediated mentorship program for young adults. This phase of development will deliver an employability focused mentorship program to over 13,000 young people. The Program Director will be responsible for successful achievement of the program’s technology & operational milestones. Mentor To Go is India’s first mobile mentoring network, that has been supported by leading Foundations and Corporates like Cisco India, Rosy Blue Foundation,, and has been recognised at forums like the International Information Communication Technology for Development Conference.


Tasks and Responsibilities
  • 25% Planning and Organizing
  • Hiring technology leads for the web and app development of the project
  • Creating the detailed annual operating plan and technology plan
  • Creating quarterly, monthly and weekly trackers and milestones for the annual plan
  • Signing up key mentor and mentee outreach partners to the project
  • 25% Program Execution Oversight
  • Create SOPs for all program processes adapting from Mentor Together and Mentor To Go’s current standard processes
  • Assist program team in gaining fluency and mastery in the delivery of program processes
  • Supervises all engineering activities, including design, development, testing and deployment
  • Oversees the project management process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget
  • Review weekly and fortnightly plans with teams.
  • Review outputs & assist in troubleshooting
  • 25% Personnel Management
  • Manage the individual and team performance
  • Conduct reviews and appraisals of team along with HR Manager
  • Plan out skill development and training calendars for team
  • 25% Reporting & Financial Management
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports to partners
  • Discuss program progress on a regular basis with partners
  • Review financial spending on projects on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Approve expenses & requests for advances submitted by direct reportees
  • Review MIS reports prepared on the basis of budgets and expenditure
  • Post graduation


Minimum Experience
  • Between 10 - 15 years of Program leadership experience, preferably in the development sector


  • At least 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years of demonstrable experience leading delivery of technology projects
  • Prior experience working on engineering projects, preferably with knowledge of Python and Android mobile app development
  • Very strong analytical and logical skills
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong team leadership and personnel management skills
  • Strong passion to work on technology for the development sector
