PURPOSE/ROLE:

  • The role of Senior Manager Human Resources is to ensure that ‘Mentor Together’ enhances its capability to realise its mission and vision by ensuring that every team member is aligned with the mission, vision and strategic agenda of the organization; that the organization attracts and retains quality talent with the skills and competencies required to deliver on its goals and strategic agenda; and to put in place systems and processes that build a high performance and execution-focused organization, that is motivated and committed to actualizing its mission and vision by fully adhering to the organizational values.
Tasks and Responsibilities
25% People Planning:
  • Manage end to end processes for recruitment, selection and onboarding of Associates, Interns and short-term volunteers.
  • Ensure that role descriptions are developed for all new positions and review/revise role descriptions for existing positions as required.
  • Develop strategies to hire the best talents across the country through most efficient and cost-effective methods.
  • Prepare /update the SOPs and necessary matrices for any hiring related processes.
  • Prepare offer letters, employment contracts and all other documentation related to employment.
  • Prepare induction plans and take responsibility for the smooth induction of all new joinees.
  • Through the analysis of data provide necessary reports to the Management on hiring status & needs.
10% Performance Management:
  • Assist Team Leaders and Associates to identify key result areas and objectives for each appraisal period and agree on performance standards.
  • Monitor performance appraisal process, assist Team Leaders and Associates identify training and development needs.
  • Impart training on the Appraisal Process and Appraisal Skills.
5% Remuneration & Rewards:
  • Assist in the Remuneration Review process, including determining of remuneration for each grade/position keeping in mind market trends.
  • Assist Team Leaders in linking variable pay/performance bonus to appraisal ratings.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations pertaining to remuneration and rewards.
10% Learning & Development:
  • Ensure that ‘Mentor Together’ is known as an organization where Associates believe they add value to themselves in terms of learning and growth and leverage this as a unique lever to attract and retain quality talent.
  • Identify appropriate learning and development interventions that will enhance skills and competencies required for better performance of individuals and teams.
  • Ensure that an effective training process is in place for all team leaders and Associates, including training needs assessments, professional development plans, and monitoring the implementation of these plans.
  • Design in-house training interventions aimed at enhancing skills and competencies of individuals and teams.
  • Assist the leadership team in thinking through, formulating and executing change management initiatives.
  • Ensure that an effective training process is in place for all Team Leaders and Associates to fully understand People Systems and Processes including the appraisal process, training needs assessments, development plans, remuneration and benefits administration, selection and recruitment processes etc
  • Provide coaching and training to Team Leaders and Associates as necessary in all relevant aspects of talent management and development.
10% Career Management:
  • Assist the leadership team in identifying career paths for Team Leaders and Associates, based on the existing and future talent needs of the organization.
  • Put in place an appropriate career dialoguing process where every Associate is able to understand the interdependence of his/her aspirations with the goals of the organization.
  • Assist the leadership team in reviewing the careers of each Associate at least once every year.
20% Talent Engagement:
  • Identify and execute appropriate talent engagement initiatives to ensure a high degree of organization vitality.
  • Identify and execute measures that will contribute to making ‘Mentor Together’ amongst the best places to work in.
  • Execute processes designed to track in an ongoing basis the levels of talent engagement in the organization. Review processes as applicable.
20% Administration:
  • Keep track of Confirmation, Appraisals, and Increments of employees.
  • Track attendance, maintain leave records, PF records, issue letters, etc.
  • Prepare various letters like increment letter, transfer letter, Absenteeism notice, warning letter, show-cause notice, experience/service certificate, relieving letter, etc.
  • Ensure the implementation of HR policies and Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure that the organization chart and Associates’ contact information including personnel profiles etc is updated on a regular basis i.e. monthly or quarterly.
  • Regularly update the HR Manual and other necessary documents.
  • Manage day to day general administration for city team.
Qualifications
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
  • A graduate or Master’s degree in Human Resources or allied discipline/s. While a formal qualification in HR management is desirable, it is not an essential requirement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of HR technical areas, such as compensation and benefits, employment, job evaluation, salary administration, performance management and personnel development etc.
  • Strong ability to speak and write with simplicity and clarity including choice of words for correct emphasis etc.
  • Strong listening, interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and come up with strategic insights.
  • Ability to facilitate change, persuade and negotiate to reach acceptable compromise/solutions among all levels in the organization.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and Google Suite.
Minimum Experience
  • 8-10 years of HR Generalist experience with deep knowledge of talent management in a non-profit organization or in a corporate multi-cultural environment.
