Vacancy Announcement: Partnerships Manager – Mumbai-based NGO Atma

Atma is a second tier consultancy and capacity development agency working towards the cause of quality education and child and youth development through intensive and long term partnerships with grassroots level NGO's working for educational development. Atma supports the agencies by offering five main services namely consultancy, fund mobilization, mobilizing skilled and expert volunteers, training programmes and peer sharing platforms to sustain, replicate and scale up their innovative approaches and programmes. Job Title: Partnerships Manager- (PM)

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Atma is seeking a dynamic and experienced Partnerships Manager to manage and implement the Core Partner Support Programme and to lead the programme and service offering to the next level of growth. The Partnerships Manager is required to have a sound understanding of the Social Development Sector and a proven track record of working at management positions within NGO's and social enterprises. The Partnerships Manager needs to be a self starter who is also comfortable of working within teams, and should have excellent people management and interpersonal skills. The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for fostering, managing and directing Atma Partner Support Programme in a strategic, collaborative and result oriented manner and consolidate and develop a proven Atma Model of Educational Development and Organizational Capacity Building. This position will report directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

The Partnerships Manager will be primarily responsible for:
  • Identifying and Fostering new partnerships.
  • Creating a Potential partner database and continuously updating the same.
  • Screening and selecting agencies for the Partner Support Programme.
  • Orienting and supporting new partners through the partnership process and developing mutually agreeable capacity development outcomes for the partnership.
  • Managing existing partnerships and providing them with the required resources and support as well as in house consultancy services.
  • Monitoring the partner support model and making required improvisations to the same.
  • Consolidating the process of partner support through various forms of documentation and electronic databases to develop the Atma Partner Support Model of Intervention.
  • Developing and managing the Graduated Partner Programme and the Exchange platform services.
  • Conduct need based in house trainings and workshops as well as coordinate the annual training services for partners. 
  • Conducting research on areas of educational development, organizational management and capacity building etc. 
Key competencies and experience required

A successful candidate will have:
  • A minimum of 4 years of working experience at a management level within an NGO or in providing consultancy, coaching and mentoring on organizational development issues to the Not for Profit Sector.
  • A Masters in Social Work (MSW)/MBA – Social Entrepreneurship or postgraduate degree in Education and Child Development/NGO Management.
  • An experience of working in cross cultural settings or with professionals from other countries.
  • Functional Knowledge and understanding of key areas of organizational management and development related to legal structure, good governance practices, financial management, marketing and fund raising, strategic programme planning, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Ability to think strategically and plan in a result oriented manner about partnerships and capacity development outcomes.
  • Ability to multi-task and networking with various stakeholders for the purpose of partnerships and the Partner Support Programme.
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills and will be comfortable working with all levels of an organization as well as the appreciative communication process.
  • Strong spoken and written English, Hindi and preferably Marathi language skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Microsoft Access packages, internet search, etc.
  • Experience with various forms of documentation especially electronic databases.
