Job Description
The Knowledge Manager will be in charge of accumulating and sharing knowledge, experience and information in the field of development, internally within the Foundation and externally with group companies, partners and stakeholders. The candidate will report to the Vice President, (Strategy and Communication).The position is based in Mumbai, India. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in building and contributing to the development sector.
Specifically, the Knowledge Manager will be responsible for:
- Accumulating knowledge, experience and information in the field of development, through synthesising research results, literature review, desk research and conducting small studies.
- Collating and organising all information about the Foundation; indexing, documenting and managing the knowledge to ensure ease of access and retrieval.
- Design and develop specific knowledge management systems to collect, organize, and utilize data, analysis, and insights gained through the stakeholder work for the purposes of organizational learning, external communication, and compliance with stakeholder reporting requirements.
- Manage all web platforms, production of multimedia advocacy materials (e.g., films, video, audio-visual, etc.), and publication materials such as newsletters, working papers, non periodic materials.
- Help disseminate information to internal and external audiences seamlessly and at the appropriate time, including organizing knowledge sharing events (such as knowledge fairs, site visits, interviews), maintaining communications on knowledge sharing across the organization, participation in orientation and training sessions, and preparation of brochures/presentations.
- Organise courses, workshops and conferences.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing, social sciences or a related field. Masters or Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum ten years of professional work experience in communications, marketing, print/broadcast media or interactive digital media. Experience in development/social sector, or academia would be an advantage.
- Ability to understand and apply technologies in knowledge management.
- Experience with using software such as Photoshop, InDesign, HTML and other designing package is an advantage.
- Stong communication skills, demonstrated writing ability, especially, ability to develop clear, concise ideas and concepts in written and oral form; specific skills in writing press releases, articles, for traditional and digital media preferred.
