These Indian cities hired most in Oct 2017

 In Oct 2017, recruitment index recorded maximum growth. Vadodara was the best performing location and reported 5 per cent rise in talent demand. Among metros, Bengaluru posted 2 per cent rise in talent demand. Here is a quick snapshot:

- Among top ten locations, Vadodara reported 5% rise in demand 
- Bengaluru posted 2% rise in talent demand, during the month 
- Among states, Karnataka saw rise of nearly 19% in talent demand

 


THE overall job market saw a drop of 6% in hiring in October 2017. This month also recorded year-on-year dip of 10% in talent demand. Amidst a dull employment market, infrastructure and petrochemicals emerged as top employment generators for the month.


The TimesJobs RecruiteX for October 2017 recorded a monthon-month increase of 12% and a year-on-year increase of 3% in infrastructure in October 2017. In the infrastructure sector, production, manufacturing, IT, sales, business development and accounting professionals saw maximum rise in demand. Hiring in the infrastructure sector for professionals with 2-5 years of experience.


witnessed maximum growth, thus pushing up the overall talent demand index of the sector. Demand for quality/process control professionals grew by nearly 12% in October 2017, followed by engineers with 8% rise in demand.

 

Among key locations, Vadodara posted the highest rise of 5% in talent demand, as per the latest RecruiteX report. Within top metros Bengaluru witnessed a rise of 2% in hiring activity. On year-onyear analysis Vadodara posted a rise of over 30% in talent demand. Amongst states, RecruiteX recorded a growth of 19% in Karnataka, while hiring dropped by 4% in Gujarat and by 9% in Maharashtra, in October 2017.
