IIM Kozhikode Placements: Students bag offers as high as Rs 52.1 lakh per annum

Indian Institute of Kozhikode (IIMK) has concluded its summer placement season with a strong increase in average stipend and median stipend. From 178 companies that participated (increase from 112 last year) in the process, 421 students received offers from top companies. The highest domestic salary offered during the placement drive was Rs 38.5 lakh. The highest offer received from an international firm was as high as Rs 52.1 lakh. 

Technology companies like Microsoft and other IT companies offered packages as high as Rs 15.9 lakh per annum. Companies like Arthur D Little offered high salary packages. This season saw a number of niche roles being offered to students. Some of the new recruiters in this year’s placement drive included companies like ABInBev, AstraZeneca, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Edelweiss GWAM, Flipkart, Uber, and Siemens. 

Even internship stipends offered to students this year were the highest compared to previous years. The median stipend offered at IIT Kozhikode stands at Rs 2 lakh for the two-month internship. There were 27 students who received high stipends of Rs 3 lakh per annum, which is 3X as compared to the last year’s offer. The top 100 students that bagged the offers received an average stipend of Rs 2.56 lakh, 14% more than the last year. 

The frequent visitors at IIT Kozhikode include companies like Accenture, Amazon, Deloitte USI, Goldman Sachs, Pidilite Industries, Uber, and Wipro. These companies were back again this year as well and in total extended 81 offers to 20% students. Hiring for Sales and Marketing functions saw the largest number of hiring. Companies like ABinBev, Asian Paints, Colgate Palmolive, HUL, ITC, Kohler, Marico, Mondelez, Nestle, PepsiCo, Samsung, and Reckitt Benckiser were the largest recruiters. 

Banking and Financial Services companies like American Express, Axis Bank, Citi Bank, Edelweiss, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Piramal Finance extended job offers in diverse roles to IIM-K students. 

International firms like Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwC, Boston Consulting Group, Arthur D Little, United Health Group offered average salaries of Rs 17.4 lakh per annum to students. Mahindra & Mahindra, Reliance Industries, Airtel, RPG, and Saint Gobain offered average salary of Rs 18.7 lakh per annum.
