Intel plans to hire 1500 techies for its new center in Hyderabad

Telangana continues to attract leading tech companies and Intel India will be the newest to setup a technology development center in Hyderabad. The new center will create 1500 job opportunities. 

Intel India’s country head, Nivruti Rai met with Telangana’s IT Minister K T Rama Rao at Camp Office in Hyderabad. The meeting’s agenda was to discuss the industrial policy of Telangana and the supporting infrastructure in Hyderabad. The state government is working to make necessary accommodations for Intel India. 

In a press release, IT Minister K T Rama Rao said, “We are very happy that Intel decided to start a tech center in Hyderabad.” The tech company has chosen Hyderabad due to its supportive industrial policy and the support it was promised from the IT ministry. 

The new development center will be a major boost for the IT professionals in the region. The development center will create 1,500 jobs in the initial stages. The state government and Intel India has had several meetings to discuss the proposed center, the talks are in the final stages. 

There is no announcement on the timeline for the proposed center. Intel India will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on November 15 in Bengaluru. The company may disclose the plans at the event. The delegation has invited Telangana’s IT Minister to attend the anniversary event in Bengaluru. 

Intel has its largest development center in Bengaluru. The company has presence in cities including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, and Pune. The proposed development center in Hyderabad will be the second largest tech development center in the country. 

India is the largest non-manufacturing unit for Intel outside the United States. The company is in operations since in 1988 from Bengaluru. Intel has over 7,500 employees in India, out of which 70% employees work at their development centers.
